Courage & Creativity: my new substack
The irony of my new substack is how scared I was to start it. The entire concept of my publication is action (fear-filled, tearful, or bouncy joy-fueled) and the relationship between that decisive action and creativity. For months I’ve stared at a blank page. I’ve started and stopped. Typed and deleted.
I was ready… well almost ready.
Then it happened.
A Summer Mood: Behind the collection
Have you ever wondered what's behind a collection of art? For my work it all starts with the idea of a feeling found in a fleeting moment. I think about places I've been, places I long to visit, those amazing conversations over good food and good drinks with even better friends. Family time around the table steeped in tradition…
Textured and golden
I’ll start this one off by saying I forgot to hit publish on this post back in March… so.. here goes! ;)
Luxe and layered textures, color, and shine are what this new handmade collection is all about. Exploring organic forms I created this body of work thinking about nature and the seasonal changes that make up our daily experiences and in a zoomed out way, our entire lives.
Ultra Small Ultra Colorful: An update + collection
It's no secret, my work/life balance (ha!), flow, rhythm.. whatever you want to call it-- it's different now. To no one's surprise except my own, momming my little one has impacted my studio production-- and guys, it's wonderful.
I'm working in ultra small batches exploring new ideas, painting new ways on my pottery, and making new glazes. The result? A mini collection like this. Coming tomorrow, 1/26 at 2 PM EST.
Porcelain Luminaries: a reminder of new beginnings
The latest from the kiln is a small batch of porcelain luminaries to celebrate the brightness of a new year. A fresh new beginning that may be dark at times, but we remember that light always finds a way through.

Set for summer tables
New porcelain is now in the shop and it has us daydreaming of the beautiful tablescapes you'll create this summer (and all year long!)
Have you ever looked at a magazine and wondered how those stunning tables are set? There's a simple trick: Layer color, pattern, and texture.
Glaze Group: February Results
The results are in and there was a lot to love about February's glaze. Just because the month is over doesn't mean I'm putting this glaze on a shelf. I plan to continue playing with this glaze. So far it's endlessly interesting with different oxides and stains! Below are my notes about this glaze, my favorite result, and details for joining Glaze Group to participate in the next monthly project.
Glaze Group: a free pottery community project
Introducing Glaze Group! A free community building project for potters that will enhance our individual studios. Each month we’ll make a new glaze formula and share our results and experiences. The monthly structure will create a low pressure opportunity to try new things in our work while leaning on built in accountability.
I've been making ceramics since 2005 and formulated my first glazes at that same time in an impressive university funded ceramic chemistry lab. It was state of the art and the opposite in nearly every way to the glaze making setups I've had in my own studio spaces. Whether you have that state of the art setup… or something… more modest (no judgment I've glazed pots on the kitchen floor before) this project is for you.
First Shop Update of 2023
New handmade pottery is arriving in the shop on 1/31 at 4 PM EST. This is the first update of 2023 and it's a good one! For this release I spent time creating two different styles of work that pair together beautifully for a modern aesthetic with roots in tradition.
2022 Recap
The fact that I wrote this post on 12/31/22 but didn’t hit publish until today perfectly sums up life right now. We have a brand new baby at home and life is upside down in nearly every imaginable way. We’re filled with love and joy, of course… but also a profound need for sleep.
As I look back on 2022 I want to personally thank you for all of your support. The past year was one I will never forget.
