Eucalyptus Study in Mauve No.1
The Eucalyptus Study Collection is a series of work aimed to capture the timeless elegance of this unique foliage.
The collection took on a deeper meaning through my research process, learning that the word, Eucalyptus means in essence: Well Concealed.
Working as a painter brings back a lot of tucked away memories for me. Before beginning my art career in ceramics, I'd dreamt of becoming a painter. Instead I fell in love with clay and my passion for painting was set aside-- a secret longing well concealed.
As my second studies collection this subject matter feels appropriate. I'm exploring my curiosity and challenging myself creatively. My desire to paint no longer hidden.
This mixed media work features bold brushwork in a soothing color palette. I've left the early pencil marks visible, emphasized further with gestural charcoal line work.
I want these paintings to feel intimate. The work is finished, yet there is a sense that the artist's hand was there only moments ago.
Each study is an original oil painting created on 100% cotton, archival quality paper. The charcoal and pencil work is sealed with an archival, fine art fixative to prevent smudging or dust collection.
Measurements:
Painting: 9" by 12" comes pre-matted in an 12" by 16" mat making it ready to frame!
Paintings are signed, titled, and dated on the reverse.
**Please note: Default orientation is vertical
