Let's Talk Pattern: Rebecca Atwood's Living with Pattern

Yesterday on Instagram I shared one of my big design secrets: Pattern intimidated me for years. It's true. It's the one aspect of design that's a hang-up for me. I think because it's so impactful when it's done right... or wrong. I'm working through this and bringing pattern into my home, and even into my work-- in small doses to start. Like our super popular confetti bowls which are each hand painted with tiny brushstroke patterns!

Rebecca Atwood's fresh approach to pattern is helping me overcome my pattern anxieties. She has a new book, Living with Pattern dropping next week, and whoa is it good. I received an advance copy and it's quickly become my go-to source for all things pattern. She breaks down this complex topic through a very relatable room-by-room approach truly teaching you how to live with pattern. Added bonus, there are even step-by-step crafts in the back of the book to help you start exploring pattern hands on!

This book will be at the top of my gift giving list this holiday season. I know, I know, it's still summer, but we're in full holiday production mode so I have the holidays on the brain. Not quite in that snowy state of mind? That's okay. This book is also great coffee table material for an everyday pattern pick me up. Do yourself a favor and preorder, stat.

We received an advanced copy of Rebecca Atwood's book, Living with Pattern for this post. Here at Suite One Studio we only share products we love and messages we value.
