Inspired by: White Rose from method's Spring Limited Edition Collection
I'm a big fan of method soap and have a bottle next to each sink in my house, so when Method asked if I would be interested in partnering to showcase their Spring Limited Edition Collection I was more than eager. As a designer, it's always exciting to have the opportunity to see sneak peeks of upcoming products because it provides unique insight into what is visually and conceptually resonating with other companies.
Inspired by method's White Rose scent I took to the studio to create a series of custom made glazes that would hit those same notes of relaxation, calm, and freshness. I wanted to create glazes that would reflect the smooth, chalky colors of the White Rose packaging and that would gently reference the nature inspired scent.
Unlike my usual high gloss glazes, I opted to formulate matte, satin, and crackle glazes for this collaboration. It was a wonderful reprieve to work on such texturally and visually different glazes! I learned to appreciate my glaze materials in new ways simply by combining them in different proportions and combinations, all inspired by method's Spring Limited Edition Collection.
This project was such a great reminder that inspiration is everywhere! It also reminded me that it's so important to take time to pause from our everyday chaos to soak up calm relaxation and to experience mindful creativity. Thanks method!
