The June 2014 issue of Better Homes and Gardens is a beauty. Page after page is filled with entertaining and DIY tips for making this summer one to remember. I sent items in for this shoot in the early part of last fall, knowing little more than that they were for an engagement party with a light pink color palette. My imagination conjured up some pretty incredible images of romantic, dappled sunlight scattered across reflective cut crystal, layers of rustic woods and softly faded textiles; feminine, tactile porcelain piled high with decadent desserts, and fabulously fancy party goers. I had the advantage of knowing Eddie Ross was the hosting the event at his breathtaking Pine Hill Farm, and if you know anything about Eddie at all you know he does chic like no one else. I feel like that should be all caps, because that's how CHIC he does chic.

My expectations were high, and I wasn't disappointed. In fact, the wait was well worth it, and I was thrilled when I got my hands on a copy. The juicy pink hues were more amazing than I had imagined, and the mixing of vintage, modern, and handmade was perfectly balanced. There's a definite art to combining such a wide range of objects, textures, and colors in an effectively harmonizing way, and not only does this issue do just that, but it also breaks down many of the images into understandable, easy to recreate looks and projects. I could go on and on praising the entire issue. Basically, pick up a copy. It's a good one and I couldn't be prouder to be a part of it!
