Proper Care: Is my Suite One Studio porcelain food/microwave/oven/dishwasher safe?
Yes. All of the above. Except for pieces with gold luster, which though food safe are not safe for microwave or oven use. It is important to treat each item with care, but porcelain is a lot more durable than its reputation may suggest. Each piece is fired in a kiln that reaches temperatures up to 2,300 degrees Fahrenheit. Experiencing those extreme temperatures is exactly what makes the porcelain strong, suited for daily use, and capable of handling anything your home oven and appliances can throw its way. When possible gradual heating and cooling is recommended (be sure not to pull a bowl from the freezer and place it in a hot oven) to avoid temperature shock.
Please note that the unglazed surfaces though water and stain resistant are not stain proof. It is important to clean food (especially red sauces and baked foods) from these surfaces immediately in order to keep the surfaces blemish free. Warm water mixed with baking soda is a great, lightly abrasive cleaner for the unglazed surfaces. Simply use a scrub or bristle brush to clean with the mixture to remove light stains.
